Program description

In 2021, Safe & Just Michigan developed a fellowship program for criminal justice impacted or formerly incarcerated people with an interest in learning about fundraising as a potential career. Fund development is a highly sought skill for nonprofits and offers opportunities right now throughout Michigan and beyond.

The fellowship provides hands-on learning with a fund development professional with over 20 years of experience. The duration of the fellowship is four months with an eight to 12 hour weekly commitment. Fellows learn the basics of fundraising, including: planning solicitation, grant writing, events, and campaigns.

Fellows are provided a $5,000 stipend for participation in the program.
