Executive Director Citizens Alliance for Prisons and Public Spending Laura Sager will be keynoting the Jackson Area Civil Rights Awareness Association’s (JACRAA) Bridges to Justice Forum October 10, 2015.

Ms. Sager will provide information and discussion focused on the causes and high costs of mass incarceration as well as resolutions to reduce emotional and financial costs.  Recommendations by CAPPS for Michigan Legislators and progress being made will be featured.

“Imagine if Jackson embraced its prison industry as a source of pride and service opportunity.  Concerned about a smart and fair criminal justice system, Jackson Area Civil Rights Awareness Association (JACRAA) has organized this series of forums to study and plead for support in making policies and practices more wise and smart.

We are joining state and national nonpartisan campaigns in this work.  We are concerned citizens, those with first-hand experience with the justice system, and returned citizens from the justice system.  We want economic, moral and humane reforms that will benefit all of us.

Following the Keynote and Lunch, the following workshops will be held.”
